After the death of her father, Anola moves to Venice and must attend a new school there - the Liceo Artistico Palazzo Tutori. What initially seems like a normal school turns out to be a secret academy where students are trained in using magical masks. Thanks to her mask, Anola can suddenly create bridges over the canals of Venice out of thin air, conjure up water tornadoes and create illusions. But how is she supposed to acquire control over the abilities of her mask when her instructor is none other than her detested half-brother? And when her heart doesn't understand that falling in love with her half-brother's best friend isn't a good idea? When the magical protective ring around Venice is attacked, everything is at stake for Anola. Can she save the city of water and light?
