About us
Verlag Der Islam is the premier Islamic publishing house in German-speaking regions, managed by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat KdöR. Established alongside the magazine Der Islam in 1949, it marked a seminal moment as the first Islamic publication post-World War II in the region. Originally circulated in Switzerland, it aimed to provide accurate insights into Islam amidst post-war Europe. Relocating its headquarters to Hamburg in 1961 and later to Frankfurt am Main in 1971, the publishing house continues to thrive. Noteworthy is the publication of a German translation of the Quran in 1955, praised for its linguistic precision and presentation of the original Arabic text. Participating in major book fairs since 1967, including the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Beijing International Book Fair, Verlag Der Islam has witnessed steady growth over its 70-year legacy. Its diverse catalog encompasses classic works, introductory literature, and contemporary themes, offering a rich tapestry of Islamic literature.
