The Akademische Verlagsbuchhandlung Friedrich Mauke KG (Academic Publishing House Friedrich Mauke Limited Partnership) is a publisher specialized in scientific works.
Its predecessor company was a successful publisher for more than two centuries with a major role in the Age of Enlightment in Germany.
Reestablished in 2018 we run our business from Leipzig/Saxony, one of the centers of German publishing industries, with an office in Jena/Thuringia as the historical headquarter, too.
We are spezialized in publishing academic media, reference books, non-fiction books and journals. Our main focus is placed in historical and cultural themes as well as training and education and also architecture and design.
We are a partner for universities and research institutes and offer services for open access publishing, too.
Currently we have in preparation the following books:
“Rooms for Young Children – Modern Architectural Concepts for Kindergarten and Nursery School”, written by architects spezialized in planning nursery school buildings (116 pages, several colored pictures).
“The Idea of Kindergarten in everday practice”, written by the head of a German kindergarten in Thuringia, were Frederic Froebel once developed the idea of modern child education (152 pages).
“The Bauhaus and the end of modern age”, analyzes the Bauhaus Movement as the end point of the arts and craft movement. It explains the importance of design in the industrialization process of the 19th century in Europe and the alienation of craftmanship and art (176 pages, several pictures and color illustration).
