Diogenes is Europe's largest purely fiction publishing house – with almost 220 million distributed copies, Diogenes has released more than 4,770 titles. It is a family business: Daniel Keel founded Diogenes in 1952 and shaped its programme until his death. Philipp Keel succeeded his father as publisher in April 2012. Today, 65 people work for Diogenes in Zurich, Switzerland, editing and selling books on the whole German-speaking market.
Diogenes not only publishes world-renowned authors, but also handles world rights for important fiction authors, such as Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Patricia Highsmith, Donna Leon, Ingrid Noll, Bernhard Schlink, Patrick Süskind, Martin Suter and Benedict Wells.
